Onun ve acliq aksiyasi gechiren bashqa zindanilerin veziyetinin agir oldugu bildirilmekdedir.

 ASMEK-IN bu barde 31 may tarixinde yaydigi beyaniyenin tercumesini sancaqliyaraq huzurlariza teqdim edirik.

Dear Mrs. Harrison

Re                 MR. QULAMRZA EMANI IS IN HUNGER STRIKE                 

We take it for granted that you are fully aware of the grave situation inflicted on Southern Azerbaijan . In spite of jailing thousands of our compatriots, their illegal detention by Iranian authorities is escalating. Because of the cramping of so many innocent people in the detention centre, their conditions are extremely bad.

Mr. Qulamrza Emani, who suffered four years of imprisonment (1999-2003) for his upholding the idea of Azerbaijanism, has been illegally under detention for the last five days. He is protesting for this against the authorities’ arbitrary measures by the remaining singular option – the hunger strike. He is not the only one but many others have also resorted to hunger strike and their conditions are extremely concerning.

We are enclosing the translation of the statement by ASMEK on this matter together with the source document for your urgent attention.

We are desperately requesting you to play your role to create a front against these ongoing crimes.

The Translation of the letters just received

The continuation of detentions in (Southern) Azerbaijan

The widespread detentions are continuing in the various cities of (Southern) Azerbaijan , as we keep receiving the news on many more detentions. Unfortunately, only the names of a handful of them have been disclosed. Among these, we have learned about the names of two in Erdebil, who are: Mr. Ekber Qurbani, and Mr. Mehemmed Yusufi. These individuals have been arrested by Intelligence agents and have been transferred to undisclosed locations.

In Tebriz, relatives of Engineer, Mr. Qulamrza Emani are informing us of his physical conditions becoming extremely concerning. Mr. Emani, who was detained on 28 May 2006 in the detentions cells of Intelligence Centre in Tebriz, has resorted to hunger strike from the same day. One of the relatives of Mr. Emani has issued the information that this action has resulted in the side effect of internal bleeding and regrettably, the Intelligence centre has taken no steps to improve the situation. The reasons for the detention of this activist have not been given, where he suffered a four year imprisonment term from 1999 to 2003 by being accused of pan-Turkism.

 ادامه دستگیریها در آذربایجان

بازداشتهای گسترده هنوز در شهرهای مختلف آذربایجان ادامه دارند.در شهرهای بزرگ از دستگیری دهها نفر خبر رسده است که متاسفانه فقط اسامی برخی از آنها اعلام  شده است که از میان آنها دو نفر  به نامهای اکبر قربانی و محمد یوسفی  در اردبیل دستگیر شده اند. افراد مذکور توسط نیروهای امنیتی دستگیر و به محل نامعلومی منتقل می شوند.

در تبریز نزدیکان مهندس غلامرضا امانی نیز از وضعیت بد جسمی وی خبر می دهند.امانی که از روز هفتم خرداد در اداره اطلاعات تبریز زندانی است از همان روز دست به اعتصاب غذا زده است.یکی از بستگان او خبر داده است این اقدام مهندس امانی موجب خونریزی معده وی شده است و متاسفانه اداره اطلاعات نیز اقدام مناسبی برای بهبود وی انجام نمی دهد.هنوز علت بازداشت این فعال آذربایجانی که به مدت بیش از چهار ازسال ۷۸ تا ۸۲ در زندان تبریز به اتهام پان تورکیسم زندانی بوده است مشخص نیست.
