According to a news from our reliable sources, Mr Abbas Nikrevan, from the city of Salmas, Southern Azerbaijan, has been arrested by the police and already imprisoned. He is a teacher and a member of the musical union in Salmas.
 
Mr Nikrevan was arrested on 1 Novermber 2005 in Salmas and is being transferred to the revolutionary court in Khoy (another city in Southern Azerbaijan).  He is an activist of the Azerbaijani national movement, who was sentenced for 4 months of imprisonment at an earlier date on the grounds of his demokratic activities. We have informed you in relation to this sentence and his appeals. It is noteworthy that, he has been arrested while still awaiting the outcome of his appeal and the ongoing review conducted in the "high court" of the country, Branch No 7, in Tehran.
