İran məqamlarının Güney Azərbaycanın milli və insan haqlarına qarşı yürütdükləri amansızca basqılardan ötəri, biz bu keçmiş 2-3 həftə ərzində yalnız ən önəmli mövzuların əks-etdirməsini tuşlaya bildik və təəssüflə sizi hər bir şeydən xəbərdar edə bilmədik. İran məqamları, başqa irqçilər kimi öz irqçilik siyasətlərini yürütmək üçün olduqca inadçılıq edirlər. Ümid edirik ki, siz həmişəki kimi cərəyanları yaxından izləyirsiniz və eləcə də biz deməliyik ki, Güney Azərbaycanlıların insan haqlarını qorumaq üçün yaratdığınız cəbhənin həyati əhəmiyyətini günbəgün aşkardır.

Sizin Babək Qurultayı üçün buraxdığınız Ümumi Bəyaniyyənin rolunu görmək heç də çətin deyildir ki, onsuz İran məqamları qan-tökməyə cəsarət edə bilərdilər, lakin sizin sərt səslənişiniz onları qorxutdu və Güney Azərbaycanı qomarlamağa kifayətləndilər. Nəyinki, BMT-dən hələ də bir mahiyyətli reaksiya buraxılmamış, İran məqamları Güney Azərbaycanın vicdan ucundan dustaqlarına qarşı özbaşınalıq edirlər. Nəticədə biz sizi onların Stalin-tipli işgəncə altında etiraf almaq cəhdlərinə diqqətinizi cəlb etmək istəyirik. Bizim 26 İyun 2006da 342/2006 saylı məktubumuz bu mövzuya görə bir zindanlının bəyaniyyəsini dərc etdi. Biz inanırıq ki, Babək Qurultayı kimi sizin bir daha qabağa düşməniz və bəyaniyyə buraxmağınız çox yerli olar ki, İran İslam Respublikasına ixtar oluna ki, 21-inci əsri Orta Əsrlər ilə qarışdırmasınlar. Axı, çağdaş zamanlarda işgəncə altında etiraf beynəlxalq icması nöqtə-nəzərindən qeyri-qanunidir və keçərli deyildir.

Son durumdan sizi xəbərdar etmək üçün bir nümunə olaraq ASMEK-in son bəyaniyyəsini sizə tərcümə edib və göndəririk və bunu da qeyd etmək lazımdır ki Güney Azərbaycan websitelərində verilən başqa tutuqlu adlar da var.

Dear Mrs. Harrison

Re                 A BRIEF UPDATE ON DETAINEES AND CONFESSIONS

Due to relentless repressions by the Iranian authorities on the national and human rights of Southern Azerbaijanis, we have only managed to target on some of the most important aspects and regrettably have not kept you fully informed of the details in the last 2-3 weeks. Iranian authorities are single-minded in pursuit of their racial policies similar to other racists. We therefore trust that you remain focused as ever and can see that the front you have created in safeguarding the human rights of Southern Azerbaijanis is of vital importance.

It is not hard to see that without your timely General Statement on the Babek Assembly, the Iranian authorities would have resorted to a bloody repression but your stern call for restraint deterred them from bloodshed who sufficed to besieging Southern Azerbaijan . As a substantive reaction is yet to materialise from the United Nations, Iranian authorities see themselves appeased with a free hand over Southern Azerbaijani prisoners of conscience. Due to this appeasement, we would like to draw your kind attention to the issue of the Stalinist-style confessions under torture, e.g. our letter 342/2006 on 26 June 2006. We feel that a proactive statement similar to that on the Babek Assembly can be very timely to warn the Islamic Republic of Iran not to mistake the 21^st century with medieval times, as forcing out confessions under torture is illegal now and the confessions themselves are void before international law.

Below, we are providing the translation of the latest statement by ASMEK, which is a glimpse of the events reported up-and-down Southern Azerbaijani websites with more revelations of the names of detainees that we have not yet written to you.

The Translation of the letters by ASMEK on 24 July 2006

Zenjan:

Rza Abbasi – A founding member of the Committee for the Defence of Political Prisoners of (Southern) Azerbaijan – he has been in detention since 27 June 2006 and in spite of the completion of interrogating him, the prosecutor dealing with his case is still refusing to release him.

Tebriz

A number of detainees, who were transferred from the Tebriz Prison to the Evin Prison, were returned back to the Tebriz Prison on the night of 19 July 2006. Therefore, Qulamrza Emani, Chingiz Bekhtaver, Hesen Heyderoghlu, Hesen Erk (Haji Abui), Eli Hamid Iman are now in the Tebriz Prison. Owing to the ban on visiting them by the members of their families, there is no update on their physical and psychological health conditions.

Although in recent days a number of detainees have been released by providing bails, nonetheless everyday new names are revealed that we were not aware of their detentions in the first place. One example of this is an individual with the name Rehim Veli pur, who was detained one month ago.

Hidayet Zakir – a high school teacher in Tebriz – was jailed last year for accusation of undermining the national security. He has been conditionally released on 22 July 2006 after suffering 7 months of imprisonment.

Also Huseyin Ehmediyan, a M.Sc. student on sociology, was released on bail after one month of solitary confinement.

Erdebil

Ekber Khub, an activist of the national movement of (Southern) Azerbaijan and detained on 27 May 2006, suffered a court sentence on 21 July 2006 with 50 lashes, fined with 300,000 Tumen in cash and was released by providing a bail. Jelal Teqevi, another activist from Erdebil was also released by providing 50 million bail.

Our reports from the Erdebil Prison show that Mr. Abbas Leysanli carries on with his hunger strike and his condition is getting worse. His family members are not allowed to reopen his shop, as it has been padlocked by the authorities. It should be mentioned that this shop is the only source of income for his family and it remains padlocked since 3 June 2006.

Also, two students from the Open University of Erdebil were detained in Erdebil on 26 June 2006. Their names are Hamid Ismaili and Huseyin Kheyyati. They were released after being jailed for 10 days and tortured their but they have been summoned for a trial by the Revolutionary Court in Erdebil.

Maragha

The Revolutionary Court in Maragha summoned Mr. Yashar Hekkak pur Maraghi (a student of the University of Zenjan ), Hamid Yegane pur, (a student of the Open University of Maragha), Mejid Pejuh fam (University Professor), Davud Ezimzade (a teacher), and Elirza Heqqi, to be convened on 6 August 2006. Each of them was released by providing a bail of 30 million Tumen. They have to be in the court on the set date together with their lawyer Mehemmedrza Feqihi and the court will be presided by the judge: Selimi. The accusations against them include, tribalism, taking steps against the national security, publicity against the order of Islam, publishing falsified material, insulting the leadership and inciting people, rioting, disturbing peace, sabotaging public properties.

As mentioned above, Mehemmedrza Feqihi will undertake the defence of their cases.

Hoping for the release of prisoners of conscience

زنجان:

رضا عباسی – عضو موسس کمیته دفاع از زندانیان سیاسی آذربایجان – همچنان از 6 تیر در بازداشت است و علیرغم پایان تحقیقات قاضی از تبدیل قرار بازداشت وی خودداری مینماید.

تبریز :

تنی چند از دستگیر شدگان تبریز که به زندان اوین منتقل شده بودند شب 28 تیر به تبریز بازگردانده شدند ، بدین ترتیب غلامرضا امانی، چنگیز بخت آور، حسن حیدراوغلو ، حسن ارک ( حاجی ابوئی)- علی حامد ایمان هم اکنون در زندان تبریز به سر می برند. بدلیل عدم ملاقات این زندانیان با خانواده ها اطلاعات دقیقی از سلامت جسمی و روانی آنان در دست نیست.

 هر جند در روزهای اخیر جمعی از بازداشت شدگان به قید وثیقه آزاد شده اند با این حال هر روز اسامی دیگری از بازداشت شدگان مشخص میگردد از جمله فردی به نام رحیم ولی پور یک ماه پیش دستگیر شده است.

هدایت ذاکر – دبیر مدارس تبریز – که پارسال به اتهام اقدام علیه امنیت ملی زندانی گردیده بود 31 تیر ماه پس از گذراندن 7 ماه زندان به صورت مشروط آزاد گردیده است.

همچنین حسین احمدیان دانشجوی کارشناسی ارشد جامعه شناسی 31 تیرماه بعد از یک ماه حبس در انفرادی به قید وثیقه آزاد شده است.

اردبیل:

اکبر خوب از فعالین حرکت ملی آذربایجان که بدنبال تظاهرات مردم اردبیل در ششم خرداد بازداشت شده و هفته ها در زندان به سر برده بود 30 تیر با حکم دادگاه انقلاب این شهر به 50 ضربه شلاق و 300 هزار تومن جریمه نقدی محکوم و سپس به قید وثیقه آزاد شده است. جلال تقوي ديگر فعال اردبيلي نيز امروز دوم تير با وثيقه 50 مليون ريالي آزاد گرديد.

 گزارشهای دریافتی از زندان اردبیل حاکی از آن است که عباس لسانی همچنان به اعتصاب غذای خود ادامه میدهد و حالش هر روز وخیمتر میگردد در این رابطه بنا به تصمیم شورای تامین استان اردبیل ، خانواده لسانی حق بازگشائی مغازه پلمپ شده خود را ندارند. لازم به ذکر است که این مغازه تنها منبع درآمد این خانواده می باشد که از تاریخ ۱۳ خردادماه پلمپ شده است.

همچنین دو نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه اردبیل به نامهای حامد اسماعیلی و حسین خیاطی که 5 تیر بازداشت ( یک روز قبل از تظاهرات اردبیل ) و پس از 10 روز حبس و شکنجه آزاد شده بودند از طرف دادگاه انقلاب اردبیل احضار گردیده اند.

مراغه :

دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان مراغه ضمن احضارآقایان یاشار حکاک پور مراغی(دانشجوی سابق دانشگاه زنجان )،حامد یگانه پور(دانشجوی دانشگاه آزاد مراغه)،مجید پژوهفام(استاد دانشگاه)،داوودعظیم زاده (معلم)وعلیرضا حقی که هرکدام باقید وثیقه 30 میلیون تومانی آزاد هستند،زمان دادگاه این افراد را۱۵ مردادماه اعلام نمود افراد فوق باید در روز 15 مرداد همراه وکیلشان محمد رضا فقیهی در دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان مراغه به ریاست قاضی سلیمی حضور یابند اتهامات این افراد قومیت گرایی ،اقدام علیه امنیت ملی ،تبلیغ علیه نظام ،نشر اکاذیب ،توهین به رهبری وتحریک مردم به اغتشاش وبرهم زدن نظم عمومی وتخریب اموال عمومی عنوان گردیده است.
