Mostafa
Evezpoor was released from Tabriz prison on 22 May.
He
had reportedly been arrested at his home in the city of Tabriz, East
Azerbaijan province, on 6 April with his 16-year-old brother Morteza.
Their younger brother, 14-year-old Mohammad Reza, had been arrested earlier that
day by officials from the Ministry of
Intelligence. He had been writing this slogan on the wall: “I am a Turk and my
language is Turkish”. He was taken to a Ministry of Intelligence facility
where he was allegedly severely beaten. He and Morteza spent three days in
custody.
On 16 May Mostafa Evezpoor’s family reportedly visited him in Tabriz prison and he told them that he was being ill-treated but did not give more details.
